Gibraltar Duty-Free Allowances for UK Travellers

Keep your luggage aligned with limits on tobacco, alcohol, and luxury goods entering the Spanish frontier.

Gibraltar Duty-Free Allowances for UK Travellers

Since Brexit, the dynamics of travelling between Spain and Gibraltar have tightened regarding customs. While Gibraltar remains an incredible destination for VAT-free shopping, UK travellers must be acutely aware of what they can legally carry back across the pedestrian border into Spain before heading to Malaga Airport.

The Key Allowances Entering Spain

When walking out of Gibraltar and into La Línea, the Spanish Guardia Civil frequently spot-check bags. Standard personal limits include:

  • Tobacco: Exactly 200 cigarettes (one standard carton/sleeve), OR 250g of loose tobacco.
  • Spirits: 1 litre of spirits (alcohol exceeding 22% vol).
  • Wine: 4 litres of still wine.

Note: These limits apply to travellers aged 17 and over. Breaking these limits will result in immediate confiscation and potentially severe fines.

Secure the Transport of Your Goods

Once you have successfully navigated the Spanish customs hall, our chauffeur will be waiting directly outside the pedestrian exit.

Rather than dragging heavy bags of duty-free goods onto public buses or attempting to hail a taxi on the street, your driver will immediately load your purchases into our secure SsangYong Korando, ensuring a comfortable and compliant journey back to your coastal resort or the airport.
