Plan your day trip to the Top of the Rock. Arrive at the border rested and ready to climb.

Gibraltar Cable Car and Top of the Rock Transport

Ascending the Rock of Gibraltar via the iconic Cable Car is the quintessential tourist experience. Reaching the upper nature reserve provides spectacular views across the Strait to Africa and brings you face-to-face with the famous Barbary macaques. But a great day out depends on how you get there.

The Walk to the Base Station

Many visitors take our private transfer from the Costa del Sol and walk across the pedestrian frontier in La Línea. Once arriving on Gibraltar soil, it is a straightforward process to reach the Cable Car base station, located at the southern end of Main Street.

  • By Bus: You can catch the red double-decker buses just outside the frontier gates or from Market Place, which will drop you a short walk from the station.
  • By Walking: If you prefer to stroll, walking straight through Casemates Square and down the length of Main Street is a highly enjoyable 30-40 minute walk, lined with duty-free shops and British architecture.

Why Private Transport Elevates the Experience

A day trip to the Rock involves a significant amount of walking up steep inclines if you explore the upper reserve. If you have spent 2.5 hours cramped on a hot public coach just to reach the border, your energy levels will be depleted before you even buy your Cable Car ticket.

Booking our spacious, climate-controlled SsangYong Korando ensures you arrive at the border thoroughly rested, hydrated, and ready to tackle the heights of the Rock.
